Montye moon

OK, let’s just call it the Montye moon in honor of Mom’s 108th birthday.

It was a mild evening and Joyce and I had finished dinner when the super moon began to show above the tree line, ideal conditions and good subject for a little night photography.

We got the outside decoration done on Wednesday afternoon, taking advantage a warm day with no wind.  Thursday we got the tree up and Joyce finished off the rest of the interior decorating.  It was another nice day Saturday and we spent much of the afternoon tinkering with outside lights, remedying some flaws.  We bought new lights for the two juniper bushes out front.  The lights we’ve used for lo these many years came with us from Garland and neither of can remember when we started using the there.

Our string of nice days continued into Sunday and Li’l r and I took advantage to play a little golf in the pasture.  That is, we played various games we made up such as golf tag, which I think I’ve mentioned before, and golf dash where we took turns hitting from a starting point to a finish line and the one that reached the finish line with the first won.  Rebecca suggested we take turns trying to hit our balls up the slide.  She won that one.  I won the one where we tried to hit the ball through the porch of the playhouse.  We were using whiffle balls.  Rebecca is getting pretty good at hitting the ball.  I may have to stop going easy on her.

Does us both good to swing the club.  Friday I felt like playing a golf but I found out the wind was blowing more than I anticipated when I headed for my favorite par 3.  I sucked it up, though, and played anyway.  Had the course to myself and managed a 38.  That is, I landed three drives on the green and made eight pars, which is pretty good for me.  Maybe I was inspired by the thrashing the Cowboys gave to them Reskins the previous evening.  Joyce and I thoroughly enjoyed that.
