Drip

Although it dripped quite a bit this week, it did rain at time for the place to accumulate nearly two inches of much needed moisture.  Combined with the cool temperatures, it was a beneficial wet spell.  There was speculation over the last six or more weeks of dry weather whether the grass would green up again if it got some rain.  The answer is yes, yes it did.  I think I’ll mow in the coming week.  The grass in most places is tall enough.  Maybe that will be it for the season.

We celebrated Li’ r and her grandma’s birthday Friday evening at the neighbors.  It actually was Joyce’s birthday.  After pulled pork tacos, there was cake and a few presents.  Barbara was there and handed out some girly heirlooms to Joyce, Rebecca and Abigail.

Kari and drove down to Lubbock Saturday to watch Abigail play volleyball.  She rode the team bus.  The Rebels beat Lubbock Monterey High School in straight sets so we were only there about 45 minutes.  It was past time for lunch when the game was over so Kari and I hunted up a place for lunch.  Abigail was required to stay and watch the other Tascosa teams, then ride home on the bus.  That’s a long drive for a couple of volleyball games but Kari and I chatted each up pretty good on the trip so the time passed pretty fast.

Joyce told me the Wylies journeyed to somewhere close to the Kansas-Oklahoma border for Dave’s nephew’s wedding.  The Wylie girls no doubt met some people from Dave’s side of the family they had not met before.  I guess I’ll get details eventually.
