by What better way to end the regular season than with a match-up between Abigail’s undefeated Crockett Pioneers and the likewise undefeated Bears of Austin Middle School. Crockett took a four-point lead into the fourth quarter only to have it melt away like snow in Texas. Austin pulled to within a point with less than two minutes on the clock. It looked like this hard-fought game would come down to one shot. Which team would sink the game winner. Fortunately a girl name Baily (sp?) stepped up for Crockett by drilling one outside the 3-point line (they don’t award 3 points at this level). She added two more buckets before time ran out to give Crockett a 24-18 win. The game was much closer than that score indicates. On to the city tournament.
