In the years so long ago, a horse was our mode of transportation.  You had a horse or you walked.  There were no vehicles then.  No cars, no trucks, no tractors.  Everything was horsedrawn or maybe drawn by oxen, which was a slow way to go.  In my life many horses have come and gone. Making a new top

Occasionally while tramping through some wooded area I’ve noticed trees that form a right angle then another in their trunk.  Think of the shape from foot to head of someone sitting in a chair.  I’ve never understood what would make a tree do that but I may now have at least one answer. The sheriff

In my travel post last week I neglected to mention Sheriff Dave Clarke   He is the sheriff of Milwaukee County and was one of the panelists at several of the National Review sessions.  He gained nation attention with a campaign ad where he told people to learn to defend themselves until the police got there.  The amphibious left shrieked in horror and accused him of promoting gun violence.  Joyce is a fan because he has stood his ground and not knuckled under to the toads but doubled down on supporting police and accusing criminals of, well, criminality. Caribbean cruise

Despite some tense moments catching our flight to Fort Lauderdale, our Caribbean cruise went smoothly and we enjoyed it.  I misjudged the time it would take to get to the boarding gate from Wylie world where we spent the night.  When we checked our bag, we were told it was a late check and might not make the flight, which would have meant we would embark on the cruise with toothbrushes, pajamas and not much more than the cloths on our back.  We were greatly relieved when our bag came around on the baggage claim carousel.
