Monday was sunny and warm with light and variable winds. I’m pleased to say golfing buddy Gary and I did not waste it on work. No sir, we hit the links and enjoyed an excellent round of golf. Your humble blogger scored a couple of birdies to come within one stroke of paring the back nine. After the round we met our wives for a lunch. I tell you, it was like a mini winter vacation without the travel.

Then Thursday I shoveled snow. It was so deep I had to shovel a path from the house to the chicken house so Joyce could service her chickens. It was so deep the wild cats could hardly get to their supper. I’m not complaining, though. We need the moisture and it was beautiful. School was canceled so the denizens of SA didn’t have to get out in it until Friday by which time the roads had been cleared, mostly. My records show we got 1.4 inches of moisture from the first of October 2013 through April 2014. From the first of October 2014 through the present we’ve accumulated 3.45 inches. That puts us in much better shape, especially if we get more snow through the winter. Yes, that will mean more weeds when the weather turns warmer but I’ll just have to deal with that.
